Two Sparrows in a Hurricane is the title of a song by Tanya Tucker that inspired me to try and interpret it visually. The story line of the song is like this. A young couple, just married , is starting out on their own with very little going for them. The punch line is , The world says they’ll never make it, Love says they will. Two Sparrows is one of the newer paintings with minimal content.
A Dimension Exists
(20"x24") $450
A Dimension Exists That Invests All Matter With Whatever Meaning and Value It Has. The title is a quote by Catholic theologian Thomas Merton. He refers to a place, not the visible world we are born in to but rather a world that we access by faith alone.
Fuzzy Wuzzy
(24"x30") $600
Fuzzy Wuzzy Conquers Negative Space is an early piece without any message, I did it as a challenge. The term negative space is one used by artists to describe portions of a painting that of themselves are not objects or icons but those portions that tie everything together. Sometimes the artist will be so engrossed in painting the positive parts they will ignore the negative space and could end up with a recognizable image that is not supposed to be there. Think “bunny in the clouds.”
Comin' Home Late
(16"x23") $300
Comin’ Home Late, a recent painting, was done in an attempt to introduce more of a Florida theme into the paintings and take advantage of my long association with the art and artists of Florida.
